PERFORM

Dr. Kait Ireland demonstrates a deadlift with a barbell in a gym to two young athletes, with weightlifting equipment and other people exercising in the background.

Performance coaching for driven runners, hybrid athletes, active adults, and postpartum moms in Laguna Niguel.

If you’re healthy enough to train but know you’re leaving performance on the table, or keep getting stuck in the “build up, break down, start over” cycle, Perform is where we dial in your strength, speed, and efficiency so your effort finally matches your output.

Who Perform Is For

Perform sessions are for athletes, active adults, and postpartum moms who:

  • Have big goals (PRs, hybrid races, return to higher-level sport) and want more than a generic training plan.

  • Have a history of injury, surgery (including ACL), or “niggles” that always pop up at the same part of the build.

  • Feel like they’re “doing everything right” with mileage or training volume but still break down before race day.

  • Want expert eyes on their running form, lifting technique, and weekly structure, not just more drills.

  • Are postpartum moms who are past the early rehab phase and ready to rebuild strength, speed, and confidence for running, lifting, or sport, without ignoring pelvic health or energy demands.

If you’re in that gray zone between “done with rehab” and “truly performing at your best,” this is built for you.

What We Work On In Perform

A female physical therapist demonstrates a lunging exercise to an athletic adult male standing in a gym on the turf.

Each session is 1-on-1 with Dr. Kait, and blends performance PT, strength & conditioning, and coaching for your real life and sport demands.

You can expect:

    • Address cadence, overstriding, and posture so running feels smoother and more efficient, not like you’re muscling through every mile.

    • Clean up form so your torso doesn’t feel “collapsed,” your low back and neck aren’t screaming at the end of every run, and your effort lines up with your pace.

    • Targeted strength assessment to identify what’s really limiting you (force production, control, power, or capacity) instead of guessing in the gym.

    • Strength and power progressions that support efficient propulsion and better pacing, especially for runners and hybrid athletes.

    • Bridging the gap between postpartum rehab and full athletic performance by layering strength, power, and conditioning on top of a solid core and pelvic foundation.

    • Progressions for pacing, volume, and intensity that match your event demands, training history, and life stress, so you’re not just “doing more” and hoping it works.

    • A combined look at form, strength, and long‑run (or long‑workout) progression to map your week (or full training block) in a way your body can actually handle.

    • If the same tight spot, ache, or early fatigue shows up at the same point in your runs or lifts every week, we sort out whether it’s a capacity issue, a mechanics issue, or both.

    • We connect the dots between how you move, how you’re loading, and how you’re structuring training, so those yellow flags stop turning into red ones.

Common Goals We Help With

Female athlete wearing red top and black shorts, standing on dirt path, crouched, ready to launch into a sprint.
  • Dialing in strength and power for running, hybrid racing, or field/court sports, without feeling beat up all the time.

  • Cleaning up running form and efficiency so pacing feels more predictable and sustainable.

  • Building back to higher-level performance after ACL surgery or a major injury, when “cleared” doesn’t yet mean “ready.”

  • Transitioning from generic group classes or DIY plans to structured, individualized performance training.

  • Returning to running, lifting, hybrid racing, or sport postpartum in a way that respects healing, pelvic health, sleep, and the realities of motherhood, without getting stuck in ‘start–stop’ cycles.

Postpartum Performance Support

Whether you’re 3 months or several years postpartum, Perform helps you move from “just cleared” to truly athletic again…running, lifting, and playing with confidence instead of bracing, guessing, or hoping symptoms don’t show up.

Example: You might come in because your low back always tightens at mile 8, your neck gets tense on hills, or your long runs leave you feeling crumpled instead of strong…we’ll use a mix of form work, targeted strength, and smarter progression to change that pattern.

How Perform Sessions Work

    • We start with a deep-dive look at your goals, sport demands, injury history, and current training.

    • This may include running gait/video review, strength and power testing, movement assessment, and discussion of your training week.

    • You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s holding you back, what needs to change, and a prioritized plan to move forward.

    • Sessions blend technique coaching, strength work, and training strategy, not a random “hard workout.”

    • For athletes with bigger goals or complex histories, we can continue with weekly or biweekly sessions for technique refinement, progressive loading, and accountability.

    • Remote check-ins and video review can be layered in as needed for those already working with me in person.
